Join us at Lookout Park on Monday, April 8th at Noon (or before!) to view the total eclipse. The eclipse begins after 12 pm CST and ends around 3 pm CST. Totality is between 1:39 pm CST-1:45 pm CST. Most of the Dallas-Fort Worth area is in the path of this totality, giving us this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch the moon block the sun for about four minutes. For the first 80 participants we will be giving out Eclipse glasses. We will also have bottled water, Capri Sun, and Moon pies until supplies run out. Bring your chairs and picnics as we watch this phenomenon together. More information: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/usa/dallas?iso=20240408

Disclaimer: it is unsafe to watch the eclipse without proper eyewear. “Never look directly at the Sun. You can seriously hurt your eyes, and even go blind. Proper eye protection, like eclipse glasses or a special solar filter, is the only safe option. Sunglasses don’t work. The American Astronomical Society has compiled a list of vendors where you can buy safe eclipse glasses. Make sure you carefully read the instructions that come with the glasses.” https://eclipse.aas.org/resources/solar-filters
